I just got an Aqualight Pro. With the mounting legs it is about 4" above the tank. The instructions say to put glass tops on the tank. What do you all suggest. Tops or no. Thanks
Depends on the lights, some will heat the glass/water to much. If there is no top then the water will not over heat. But,.....if you have jumpers they will get out if you leave it open like sweet said.
i have a MH thats hangs over my tank, and i dont cover the water at all, no fish have went sky diving yet. mine is a 120 so the opening is pretty large.. gets to hot if i dont do that. lose alot in evap, thou..
Thanks all. Just one day and alot of evap. I usually leave the tank at 78 degrees but with the lights without the tank covered it got to 82. I put the a/c on in the room this morning. I am in CT and it has been 70-80 degrees here.
Thanks. I am not afraid of jumpers, I just didn't know if there was a good reason for covering because of the MH lights. The aqualife instructions say to but I would rather not.
