This is my first time posting. So Hi to everyone. I have a Koran Angel, Blue jaw, Powder Blue, Lion and a foxface. Does anyone think it would be big trouble to add a Cow fish? :confused:

i have heard if you get a box fish you want to add it first to the tank to reduce the likely hood of it getting stressed and poisoning your tank. also they are very slow eaters so you would have to take special care to make sure it gets enough to eat.

I have a cowfish for about three years (200 gal). From little to huge!
Very slow mover & eater but bites hard. Great personality;
it doesn't get stressed - it gives stress to my Huma-Huma Triggerfish and two very large Angels. Eats everything and a lot of it.
Go for it - watch your fingers feeding it.

As I said in other place,
I raised two of them (in fish + corals tank) from 1.5" to 10".
First one died being almost 4 years old; I don't know why.
Never killed anything or released her toxin.
Second is still in my tank (200gal). Save and sound - 11" now.
Love them. So friendly even chewing your finger.

I have 2 cowfish. Got them a few months ago and they were tiny- like maybe 2 inches long. Now they are 5 -6 inches and still growing. They eat like... cows! They have big blue eyes and come right over when they see me. Like little puppies. They eat whatever I put in tank and love a leaf of romaine lettuce every day or two.
I know there is the possibility of them releasing poison, but if you read up on them on these boards, it hasn't really ever happened to anyone unless the situation was severe.
Enjoy them!

its actually not that common for boxfish aka trunkfish and cowfish to release their toxins...actually the blue boxfish is the one most likely to do it and even then its not that often
