do you really want that kindof fish. the only way i'd get one of these fish is if i had a tank just for them. well i might put a bunch of damsels in there with him so it wouldn't matter if they died. this fish emits toxins when it is stressed out which can kill the rest of the fish that you put them with and they get huge.

i had acouple as a kid, they would always end up being pretty small and afteer bout like 6-8months one day i would find them sucked onto my filter intake for who knows how many hrs and were half dead when i would get home.

Bummer!! I was considering purchasing one of these cute things. Has anyone else had experience with cowfish? They look soooo harmless at the lfs.

i had a camel cowfish in my 29g eclipse with no problems whatsoever. dam ich whacked the entire tank.
cowfish are great fish, if you get them when they are small. they recognize certain people when they walk in front of the tank.

A lot of fish recognize people. Most of mine will hide when someone walks up to the tank. But when I walk up they all seem to sit and wait to see if I'm going to feed them. If I don't feed them then some will hide. I think fish are smarter than we give them credit for.
