CPR Bak-Pak 2 Protein Skimmer with Accela Pump?

I just got this sealed as it was leaking from the inlet. I have it operating on my tank as of now. I checked online and it stated that if my water s extremely hard it may produce some micro-bubbles into the tank for 24 hours. I am getting the bubbles and I did a water test and my water is way harder than I though. Should I be ok in 24 hours?
Thanks

Well my CPR bak pak never made microbubbles and not much skim either..It was the first HOB skimmer I had and I hated it. Sorry you have one, you wasted your money.
I replaced the CPR with a cyclone..it too is crap
Now I have a coralife..lots of microbubbles and floods too...another crap and waste of money
I have decided all HOB skimmers are garbage..if you can get any of them to skim anything you are ahead of the game. My solution to the microbubbles after months of fighting them...set a timer and only run the thing at night so you don't have to look at it and the fish are sleeping.

Someone??? Ouch.
I know you said you can't turn the nut but, plastic likes to stick when its tightened and not lubricated with say, teflon tape. It will loosen but, it may take some force. Just be careful and take your time. You should be able to get them undone and not damage it.
Just for kicks here is the link I gave Meowzer.

Well, since we are restarting a 3 year old thread....
I've had my CPR Skimmer/Refugium combo for a month now and could not be more pleased. It is basically the standard
BakPak inside a small HOB fuge.
I get about 1/4" of yellow brown skimmate every day. My trates have dropped to a touch over 10 since installation; finally
got the fuge populated with enough chaeto this past weekend to hopefully get trates lower; will advise on that as it happens.
The bubbles went away after 2 days, now only an occasional larger bubble that goes straight to the surface now.
I did have to disassemble/reassemble the pump (Rio 600rv) a couple of times to get it to quite down; it is relatively quiet now, less noise than my light's fans.

k good the break in for you has happened and is over (since for me i have problems ._.) but for the larger bubble i guess just turn the output tube to the surface i guess
