I just recently got a CPR bak-pak and I am wondering if I should upgrade to a Maxi-Jet 1200 or get the preskimmer/bubble reducer combo? I know the preskimmer/bubble reducer will not fit on the maxi-jet 1200 pump so I need to figure out something else if I get it. Should I get the preskimmer/bubble reducer and get a different pump. I think I would have to stay with a Rio pump though because that is all they fit on right?

I never had a problem with bubbles after the break in period with my bakpak. Now the preskimmer would be good, but personally, I would go for the maxijet, given the size tank you are using it in...the more power, the better.

Oh good, I hate those bubbles. I have had my CPR about two weeks, how long does it take for the break in period. I think if I use the maxi-jet, then I can't use the preskimmer though, is that correct?

Yes you are correct. The break in period varies with each system, but mine lasted a month or two. Even then it was 6 months before i really got it working well.
