CPR Bak-pak skimmer

I made the mistake and bought a SeaClone POS skimmer and I need to find a different one. My question is are the CPR Bak-Pak skimmers a good skimmer? I have a 55 gallon FOWLR. Any input would be appreciated.

how many fish are you going to keep and what kind of fish?if you are set on a hob then look at octopus or deltec

I have a false perc, scooter bleny, lawnmower blenny, firefish goby, choc. chip star, and a couple of shrimp and a small cleaner crew. By the way is the IBEW41 your local? I am in IBEW local 304.

yes brother 41 is buffalo the cpr is kind of small for a 55 maybe 2 bac pac but I would look at the octopus

Do you have a sump???
And how much you wanna spend???

No sump yet in the process of building a 20 gallon sump. Wanna spend as lilttle as possible.

I have been running a bacpac on my 55 for over a year, and it has worked fine for me.

Thanks for the info, I just picked up a Remora today I hope it works better than the SeaClown!

The Remora can be quite loud, other than that it is a good skimmer. There are several ways to quiet it that you should be able to find by searching on google.
