I caught a small hairy legged crab sitting on top of my Gonoporia Coral picking away at the tenticles this morning, He came in on some live rock, I have heard of carnivore crabs, but didn't know if this was a bad one. Got rid of it anyway, Anybody have this happen before??

it was the size of a dime, and was red in color with small claws that had short blunt ends, the legs were hairy and white in color.

sounds like an emerald crab. yeah emerald is green but there are also red ones and all emerald crabs have hairy legs.

I was horrified to find my anemone carrying hermit hunched over my curlique anemone picking away at him. I almost freaked out! It was liking watching something you absolutely loved being destroyed by something else. I immidiately scared the hermit away and have been nursing my curlique back to health. I sold the hermit that day to my LFS. Good riddens and goodbye as I left the store. The hermit was cute with big yellow eyes, but not at the expense of something more elegant and graceful as my curlique. Things are great now. It was funny...after I removed the hermit initially, everything began coming out from where they had been for about a week...as if they were all rejoicing like the wicked witch of the west had just been killed. Ding dong!
