crab id please..

found this crab on a rock i bought.. about 3 weeks of having it my 2 peppermint shrimp disapeared, gone nothing left of them . and i found this guy, is it a sand crab or a rock crab, it does have black tiped pinchers and i heard they were bad. any ideas?

I too have had experience with a hitchhiker like that! GET RID OF HIM!
Glad to hear you only lost shrimp, mine killed a couple shrimp and two tiny fish before I found him. I won't say the evil thing I did to him once he was found, but let's just say I live in NY and we had a bad winter.....

I had the same looking hitchhiker. Was looking in my tank one night with the moonlights on and it was chomping down on one of my acro's. So I grabbed it with a set of pliers and threw it in my QT. Mine was about 2x as big as that one....
