crab id please????

it looks identical to a emerald crab but brown????? any ideas

Hmm. Looks like a gorilla crab. I've heard they are bad. Try taking a pic when the lights go out. They come out more.
ON THE OTHER HAND
I have one in my 12 and he hasn't bothered anything in 7 months so i don't know the verdict on them.... Supposedly they kill snails, hermits, and such....
If you don't see things missing then leave him be. He will go through your rock and clean up things.

i havent lost anything to this crab ....this winter will be 1 year ...i only see it eating algea..

ok that definately looks like a gorilla crab...i would try to get him out as soon as you can...these guys get huge, and as they get bigger they have the potential to catch and eat sleeping fish, and also damage corals!
