I ordered 40 zebra hermits. I'm told they are out of stock. They want to substitute Red Leg Reef Hermit Crabs. Is this okay?

You got lucky...Zebras are worse than blue legs. Red legs are pretty peaceful, but scarlet legs are the best IMO.

I'll try the red legs. I had ordered 20 scarlets about 2 weeks ago, at the tone of $60! I actually got 24-25. I'm down to 4-5. I don't know what happened to them. I have 2 percs, firefish, blue hippo, coral beauty and green chromis, 1 fire shrimp, 1 cleaner shrimp, 10 peppermint shrimp, 5 green emerald crabs, 10 astre snails, 10 nass. snails, 100 lbs LR, 60 lbs LS. All tests are fine including calcium and iodine.

If Zebras are worse than blue legs STAY AWAY!!! I won't buy blue legs anymore because all they do is kill each other to take their shells. I agree that scarlets are the best but the red legs are pretty cool as well........and they're not bullies!

Yeah, I'm getting the red legs. Should have them tomorrow. We'll see how they do. Any ideas on what happened to the scarlets?

I just picked up 10 scarlet reef hermits for a whole whopping $15 at a local saltwater warehouse!!

Looks like I got a deal, maybe I should go get some more!!

My LFS store sells them for $3.99 each! Yeah, you got a deal. They're 3.49 here or 10 for 29.99. I'd get more if I could.

They look like the ones pictured here. They have the scarlet legs with yellow eyes.
