you spent 2 bucks. why chance it by putting something expensive in it and your tank cracking? throw it out and buy another.

Being that it is only a 10gal, it will not have very much water pressure. Go to a glass store and have them cut you a piece of glass just small enough to cover the entire back glass(the one that is cracked) up to the edges of the silicone joints. Smooth a layer of silicone sealant across the back of it and press it against the inside of the back glass, making a reinforced two-layer back glass. This will work fine, and should not reduce the water volume by any noticeable amount. Of course, a 10gal tank may not be worth all this effort, as they are very cheap at almost any store. HTH

forget effort. you paid 2 bucks for it. it's gonna cost you more to fix it. buy a new tank.

As I said, the effort may be too much for suh a cheap tank. The only time I would suggest it is if the tank in question is for a specific purpose or is hard to extract from it's current location. I had a crack in one of my tanks in my MaRS retail multi-tank setup that I had to use this method on, as it would be MUCH more difficult to replace rather than fix. So, unless you have some spare window panes sitting around the house that would fit it, I would just go and get another 10gal tank from Wal-Mart or PetSmart or some other cheap store. Being a very small tank, craftsmanship doesn't play much of a role, so all 10gal tanks are pretty much the same.
