Crazy BTA

My BTA is weird. It has no bubbles on most of the tentacles. At times it will have a few, but mostly none. It is growing like crazy and is getting huge. My clowns ignore it. It has attached itself into an old barnacle shell and I can't get it out. The area it chose is at the top of the tank and now it's starting to sting other stuff.
My questions: how can I help it to get bubbles all the time? It eats mysis like a pig twice a week, but this hasn't helped either. How can I get it out of the barnacle shell without hurting it? TIA.

I have BTA with the same thing. I have 4 huge ones in a 75 gallon tank. They take up 1/3 of the tank and they are splitting again. Mine do not bubble up very much either. They are happy and fed very well and I think that is why they do not bubble up. They bubble up to gain surface area to get more light to achive more photosynthesis. Hope this helps. Try cutting back feedin and the only way to get him out is to either break or remove the barnicle shells.
