crazy crab question

3 years ago, i bought some red leg crabs for cycling my tank. I thought that they all had died. Recently i had a tank crash, and all fish perished. Now i am seeing crabs all over the place.
Where have they been? do you think they procreated? were they hiding from the fish?
If anyone has any insight into where these boogers have been hiding for so long, and have recently resurfaced, please let me know.

hello there. It depends on what kind of fish u had in there if they where aggressive ones they would have stayed low and out of sight. and now that fish have died they have more stuff to feed on so they are now most likey breeding like crazy in your tank. send us som pics so we can see.
