Very cool. Although can't exactly figure out how water can go up tubes between tanks. Interesting concept though.

Water does not really go between the tanks persay, in fact the water is probably fairly stagnant there. Same concept as say putting a glass upside down in a tub of water....The pressure of the water pushing back from each tank is enough to keep the water inside the tube....

how would you suck the air out of the tubing to create the vacuum?
Also couldnt you also create a syphon out of one of the tanks, have the other predrilled, and just create another syphon back to the original tank?

read the ones that do this with tanks that are right next to eachother that have a 'water bridge'. From what I remember, they are a PITA to get the water in the tube. I cant image how they'd do it in this one.
You could put some sort of blockage on the entrace/exists with some sort of 'door/block'. Then at the top, fill it with full with water. Then let go of those doors/blocks to let fish enter/exit. But you'd have to make sure that at all times that those tubes stayed under the water.. if not.. bye bye water into one tank.
