hi,
I upgraded my lighting to a hood that holds 4 T5HO bulbs the first two are 460nm actinics and the other two are 10,000K T5HO's would you recommend keeping a crocea giant clam under those lighting conditions? the store I bought it form said that I could.

Depending on the size of your tank. If it is a 55gal then yes you can!! If it is a 75 gal then I might add one more light. What size tank is it? You would also have to keep it high in your rockwork.

I personally would rather another bulb. But if your rock work is close to the top you can try it. You might be okay. But it would have to be high in the tank for sure. You can always try it and see how it does. If it starts to loose color maybe take it back to the LFS. Or you can get a squamosa(sp?) or a derasa and it will for sure do fine.
Oh question, does your T-5's have individual reflectors? If not I would can the idea of a clam until you upgrade.

clams under mh will work for sure. as for t5 without individual reflectors, just keep it high up, and u will be fine.
