Well I have been in the hobby for about 4 years now and I now the benefit of deep sand beds and have been using one in my 75 for 2 years. I have been trying to reduce the amount of clutter around the house and ran across many grocery bags full of my old crushed coral that I rinsed and put into storage......
Does anyone have an idea on what I can do with all my old crushed coral that is clean and just bagged up like it is freshwater gravel....Besides filling holes in the backyard????
Thanks

I am in Gainesville, GA and am looking for some course crushed coral (about 10 lbs) to use as a bottom layer for a small 8 gal that I am going to try with a dwarf seahorse set up. If it is worth your time, can we come up with a way to get it to me for a reasonable price?
Thanks,

Well I definately have at least 10 lbs....
I will get you the name/brand this weekend...when I look at it in storage.
I would just call it "regular" crushed coral. How course are you wanting? Like chunks of shells/full shells? or more crushed?

I have Florida Crushed Coral.....Argonite Formula
The bag I have in the original bag says 40 lbs...it is about 2/3 full so about 25-30 lbs...
Then I have some more of the same brand in grocery bags...about 15-25lbs...
Let me know if you want any of it.

I ordered 18 pounds of puka shell substrate from Petsmart but they are out of stock (it is a little larger than the FL crushed) and I don't know if it will ever be in stock. The cost was $17 with no additional shipping charge (these next three days only ... :D ) The FL crushed Argonite was my second choice and was cheaper so I don't know if it is worth your time for the small amount I need. If you want to punish yourself  , do you have any idea where we could meet to make an exchange? Gainesville is about 1.5 hours from Athens. If you go into Atlanta at all I could have my husband meet you during the week (he works at 85 and 285) or I can probably convince him to take a drive but I am not sure it is worth your time.:nope: as I would want 20 lbs max (and then probably have to fill some holes. I can be reached at dwhatley@mindspring.com - Thanks "D"
