Crushed Coral Owners only poll

I'm debating going to CC from a 4 inch sand bed. I'd like to hear if anyone has made that conversion and regrets it now.

Hey, what kind of sand do you have? I just took my crushed coral out and I don't like the sand that I have. Maybe we could switch? I had about 50 lbs. cc.

I have the Carribean play sand from Home Depot. Its not out of the tank yet. I'll let you know

I couldn't find Carribean play sand around here so I got some silica base sand that is somewhat white. Not as white as I would like it to be.

I have CC/LS mix and I simply got tired of the way the CC looks. I should be switching to full LS this weekend (time permitting).
As a sidenote, CC sandstorms seem to clear up faster than LS.

I started with CC and then changed to sand. As soon as I switched I noticed a huge difference. My corals were open fuller and my pod population exploded.
I can understand why after seeing the muddy, gunky, funky CC that came out after 10yrs of being in there. It never looked clean and algae grew on the pieces. Sand is perfect. I just buy the right critters and they do the rest.
