Crushed Coral vs Sand

I'm in the process of starting my 125 gallon fish only agressive tank.
I've heard reccomendations both ways. I'm told that crushed coral is easier to clean with messy eaters. Is this true?

I used a combo of both but i ended up with more sand on one side and more rock on the other.

I think live sand is easier to clean. You don't have to vaccum detritus out of the bed as you would have to with cc. Live sand is also beneficial to filtration (although not as much in aggressive setups) and it just looks better, IMO. I manually stir my sandbed once or twice a week, and it always looks nice. Bo

I vote ls also. I never even have to stir it, I haven't had a speck of algea in monthes. The sand for some reason stay very clean.

IMO go with live sand... crushed coral was for the 80's.. LOL

Live sand is the way to go, helps with the filtrations.
