Yes, that is TOTALLY against the rules and you asked for 80 obo and thats it. YOU have to eat the 3%. IF you do charge the 3 percent, the buyer has ALL RIGHTS to get it back and paypal will close your account.

Ok first of all paypal doesn't close accounts because of that, they won't even refund you and second, if 3% is really THAT big of a deal then don't worry about it. Or better yet the price is $82.40! Is that better??

Just call it a handling fee!

I guess you didnt read your USER AGREEMENT when you signed on with PAYPAL because it says and I quote:
4.7 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.
which means that if someone went to buy it from you in person and you didnt charge 3% , you cant charge anyone else for using paypal to make a payment.
And unless your account is a premier account, transfering money to and from a personal bank account is free. If it is a premier account, then you agreed that you would not charge the 3% fee to the buyer. Thats the charge that YOU the SELLER is responsible for, for using paypal's services.
I am not going to goover the entire agreement with you, thats your job. But the bottom line that paypal says is:
You must not charge a surcharge for accepting PayPal
10.2 Actions by PayPal. If you engage in any Restricted Activities, we may take various actions to protect PayPal, ----, a User, a third party, or you from Reversals, Chargebacks, Claims, fees
, fines, penalties and any other liability. The actions we may take include but are not limited to the following:
We may close, suspend, or limit your access to your Account
or the Services (such as limiting access to any of your Funding Sources, and your ability to send money, make withdrawals, or remove financial Information);
We may contact buyers who have purchased goods or services from you, contact your bank or credit card issuer, and warn other Users, law enforcement, or impacted third parties of your actions;
We may update inaccurate Information you provided us;
We may refuse to provide our Services to you in the future;
We may hold your funds for up to 180 Days if reasonably needed to protect against the risk of liability; and
We may take legal action against you.
Personally you started this thread at 80 dollars shipped and if any buyer were to call you on it, you would have to sell it at that price and not higher. Or the mods can just not allow you to post anything else including this, since obviously you cant see the dishonesty in your so called NOT REALLY A BIG DEAL 3% markup cause you dont want to be responsible for your end.
