I have the samller CSS on my sump for my72 bow and it works fantastic. I am just worried that the sponge media used in the output area will beign to trap nitrates. yes I do rinse it out on a regular basis but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried removing the sponge material and how much diffusion occured?

I run my CSS 125 in sump with out the bubble trap that came with it and it works great. As long as the baffels in your sump are set up properly, the bubble should stay in the skimmer chamber.
