I'd give it at least another week. What did you all add for the CUC? I take it you don't have a QT and you should look into that as well.

Ya, another week of steady params should be good. If you do have a QT tho you could get a fish now and put it in the QT.

Yes it would need to cycle, but you could jump start its cycle with water and LR from your own tank. Then just take the LR out when the cycle is done. All you need is like a 20-30 gallon tank, hob filter, heater, and a powerhead and maybe some pvc the fish can use to hide in. Obviouslly itll be awhile before a QT is ready for you, but its a good long term investment for you to keep sickness out of your main tank.

yeah i've read alot about the QT... i'm def gonna get one of those... i basically started my tank now just to see how difficult it was... with that in mind... a larger tank is my future. i just wanna get everything right before i go spending tons of money on somethin that i have no idea how to do. cuz i will

Well thankfully the risk is lowest now that you don't have much in the tank, if it were me I'd probly get the QT going before adding anything to the tank anyway. If you add the fish to a tnak with LR and he gets Ich or something you have no way of treating them. I know not everyone wants to be so cautious though.

oh once i find room for one... it's te next thing on my list... what about like a 10 gallon... since i've only got a 29 gallon tank... would that be too small? i mean i KNOW i need one and i'll just head out to th LFS once i deliever some pizzas tonight n make some money lol

You can usually find everything you need cheap on a certain site started by this craig guy. A 10 gallon QT should be fine for any fish big enough to live in a 29, I have a 125 so I'm thinking big fish lol.

haha yeah right i gotta put micro organisms in mine cuz it's so small lol but yeah a qt is in my future... and new lighting and new EVERYTHING... lol it was set-up as a freshtank before i mean it's got the hang on filters and a crappy hood with a crappy light and it's ugly and i don't have the money for a million gallon tank like i want lol... but it's fine for now once i cn ever put fish in it... gah i'm have anxiety problems can u tell? lol

Small tanks, those were the days. My first tank was a 29 gallon fresh too. I try not to think about how much I've spent on my 125.

You should be fine as it is, you probly cant do corals with the current lights but fish dont care about the lighting. HOB filters might not be ideal for filtration, but as long as you keep up with water changes its no big deal. Theres no need to wait on a big tank to add any fish, I bet you could get everything you need to get a 10G QT for like 40$. Its up to you tho :)

I also have a 29 gal. My QT is 10 gal, purchased from Walmart. Even comes with a light and a filter. Check it out.
