RO/DI is the way to go, this way you will remove all impurites from your water prior to putting it into your tank. Phophates, Nitrates, Disolved impurities etc, etc Culligan is just Filtered water i think, Not even Revoerse Osmosis or Deionized, do a search and type in ro/di units you will get all the info you need and places to get it as well.

The only way to know how good the Culligan water is to test it with a TDS meter. And remember you rarely get the rated GPD of any RO unit unless you have the correct water pressure and water temperature. How many stages is this Coralife unit?

We are using culligan and so far no problems. We know when the filters are changed properly because we watch them do it. and the unit we got is the same filtration as rodi water. We have tested ours and its the same as my friends who do have a rodi. We had culligan put the unit in our basement hooked up to our water line. Drains in to a huge holding tank that we have a heater and filter going on it to keep the water going and we salt it and get it ready. When we do water changes its already temp and salt controled so less stress on our fish. So far no problems Good luck.
