Cured LR question

I bought some LR that I am pretty sure is cured. I put it in a QT tank to be sure for a little over a week. Do I need to do water changes in that QT in case it is not cured? Or is it ok to just place this LR in my DT without doing water changes.

take the rock out and smell it. you'll know if it's cured. if it smells, than check ammonia regularly. if ammonia goes to over .5, do a water change. if it doesn't smell, put it in the display.

The ick can in theory settle on you live rock in the tomont stage of its life cycle ( when it stops feeding on your fish and falls to the bottom to reproduce)

it was in a tub with circulating water. My question is... Do I have to change the water the LR is in? Im pretty sure its cured but if its in water that has an ammonia reading can that hurt the DT by putting the LR in.

When you test the water in teh tub you are curing in. The water should test the same as your DT water. So if there is any ammonia that is not good. Let it cycle more.

You have to take into consideration the amount of water you have in your QT compared to the amount of water in your DT if your DT is a 110g and your QT tank is a 12g for example and you are getting a very small ammonia reading you will be fine
