If you are waiting that long, 2-3 months I would say just go with uncured. It will help your tank cycle without having to do any of the other stupid stuff, like feed an empty tak or fdropping a shrimp in. Go uncured and that will start the cycle. IMO

I prefer uncured live rock. It means a little more work and a LOT of water changes to keep ammonia low but in the long run you get a much better system.
I'd suggest 30 pounds of base rock and 30 pounds of high quality uncured live rock.

Id skip the base rock and go with quality uncured LR.
45-55 Lbs would be plenty. If you had space you could even pre-cure the rock for 2 or 3 weeks then put it in your main tank.

Base rock is preferable dead "reef Bones" or dry rock. Using live rock is fine as long as it has not been exposed to high ammonia levels and doesn't have a lot of photosynthetic life on it.
