unfortunaly yes. which i know it is not a good idea. do u think if i set up a small tank something like this.....
10 gal
no pump (just bubbler)
pebble bottom
a small light ( a watt or 2)
no chemicals as far as calcium and so forth
if i stack two pecies of live rock on 1 big peice of un cured will it grow under the conditions above?

First you will need some sort of powerhead pump.. an air bubbler is not good for saltwater tank... pebble bottom... you will want to go with sand... as far as putting uncured rock in a tank would not be smart.. you will need to cure the uncured rock in a bucket with a pump and some saltwater.. this will take a few weeks... you will know once your ph goes down... and that low of light will do nothing... and if you want the coralline algae (the purple on rocks which makes them look soo stunning) you will need to add calcium.

you have fish in the tank?? I was under the impression that this was all in the process of being setup... tell me the specs of your tank... you will also need calcium and alkalinity test kits... You can't just does calcium... calcium and alkalinity go hand in hand... I think you need to read up on that kind of stuff.
