You can but it isn't the best way to do it. You want to have a good deal of water flow. You don't want dead spots in the curing container.

I use a rubbermaid storage tub (no idea how many gallons it is). It is hard to tell. Your going to have to just look at the sizes available.

for 35lbs of rock?? No. have you seen the rock yet or is it on order? You will need something pretty good size. The tote that I am talking about that I use is about 3' long X 2' high and about 1 1/2' wide. You won't need something quite that large, but a 3 gallon bucket isn't going to do it. Also make sure whatever you use is clean and has never had chemicals in it.

For 50 pounds I just used a rubbermaid bin with 15 gallons of water.
I would say at least something that can hold 10 gallons for 35.
