HOW MUCH was that coral???? Hhmmm..only about 1 carton!

PS...the same response works when you find a great shoe sale at the mall! I got a cool pair of sandals that I didnt really need but had to have them...they only cost about 2 and a 1/2 packs!
Bad illustration for me. See, my husband is the non-smoker and I'm the smoker.
Although I have told him on occasion that I will quit smoking when he stops farting. :hilarious

So far, he hasn't quit - so I smoke my 1/4 pack a day. At least the smoke smells better than what comes out of his other hole.

I think I'd rather fess up to what my true expenses were with the tanks than my weight OR my age. Of course my husband doesn't even remember how old I am much less know my clothing or shoe size.
Think about it Bonn, Iowa finally came to the realization that EVERYONE lies about their weight - which is the main reason the DOT decided to remove the weight description from all Iowa licenses. That may be the only good thing that came from Vilsack!
On a side note, I'll be back on MSN next week. Crazy week here with me being sick and the volleyball games Kater's is in.

its exactly the same thing. How many people have a spouse or other half that aren't really as into the hobby as they are. They come home from the LFS and the receipt magically disappears, they "forgot" how much something was, or something just plain "appears" in the tank in the hopes they don't notice it. (kind of like when my husband asked if "those are new shoes"
)
Our neighbor goes through this all the time, he is really into the hobby and his wife is not.

What receipt are you talking about?
The only receipts I keep are the ones for Corvette crap. That's just enough ammunition for me to spend for something I want and no one else has a use for - like diamonds and emeralds!
Aquarium additions are called "maintenance additions" here at my house. To maintain a pretty tank - one needs a new hippo - he helps clean the sand.
To prevent aiplasia I NEED peppermint shrimp. To give the new hippo a friend (he looks so lonely!) I NEED a Henny. I NEED to buy more salt and test kits. Would YOU like to live in a crappy home? I NEED to buy frozen food instead of flakes. YOU like steak all the time, how about living on hotdogs for life - afterall, you want the fish to eat crappy food.
See how the game can be played around here?

He's just not quite as creative as me when it comes to 'wants and needs.'

When I started I was told to figure $40.00 - $45.00 per gallon in equipment set up and livestock! That doesn't even come close - TRUST ME. A 210 gal reef, sump assembly, MH lights, VHO lights, nite lights, plumping, gadgets gadgets and more gadgets, test kits, power strips, timiers, live sand, live rock, fish, inverts, corals, food, addatives, salt mix, scrapers, etc. Have to have a very understanding spouse and don't ever say a word about her $100.00 shoes or hand bag TRUST ME. Actual accrued cost (9/29/06) will be one year of opperation will be approx. $9750.00. Well that comes out to $46.43 per gallon over first year! Now if you thought home owning was a money pit - get really hooked on a reef system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I'm still working my new setup and between room build and all new equipment not carrying over from my current 300 gallon I'm in the hole slightly over $15k and that's not including rock or corals yet for the tank, and don't regret 1 penny I've spent.......
