I have the Current T5 for my 20 gal and love it. I only have some zoo's in it right now but I just set it up a few weeks ago. For a 55 I would go with the 8 light fixture. I have seen people with every thing SPS, clams and softies.

I have this fixture on my 55 gal and am happy with it. I have a clam and some montis in the tank and they are doing great.

How many bulbs are on yours? Is it just the light or did you do a retrofit?

very good light...
i have a torch, hammer, frogspawn. hydnophora horn coral and a bunch of other stuff under it... they seem to really like it...
the only knock on this light is that theres a different plug in for the HO fan... i have other lamps that the fan automatically turns on with the HOs

Awesome, it looks like this will be the lighting that I get. Does anyone know if that have individual reflectors you can buy for it?

I'm seriously thinking about getting this light fixture myself. Does anyone have any issue with it running hot under a canopy? It will be open on the top and vents in the back. What about the fan noise, does it basically just get drowned out by the noise from the tank? My only issue is I would have to get two 36" lights because my tank is 6' long.
