I just bought a small powerhead w/alot of power. I placed it in my 18gal aquarium and was very glad it was producing alot of current. Much more thatn my old current, and teh old one is bigger! Anyway, now my thriving bubble coral is not expanding as much as it was before I got the powerhead. Do they close when there is too much current? Is this too much current? How much current do corals need? Any answers would be helpful.

well, you could always turn down the powerhead if it has an adjustment or aim it a bit more away from the coral and see if that changes anything, just a thought.

you might just need to give it a few days to adjust, then see if you need to change up. i wouldn't have it directly in front of the current though. :)

I'd avoid excessive current for a bubble...mine prefers a moderate current and closes up more when the current bothers it. What kind of power head did you get? Should say something about GPH(gallons per hour)...
