Thanks for the kind remarks. The slats in the front are offset with overlapping front and back ones that allow air and heat to flow out the front without the light coming through.
Jugger - Yes, I did build it. I couldn't find a manufactured one that suited my tastes.
Ashbury30 - both the doors will actually pop of allowing me almost complete access without removing the lid.

WOW WOW WOW WOW i almost got a 92 corner for my room tank. I was concernd about what canopy i can build (I cant build with wood well). I have a 60 gallon hex in my room i have to try to make a canopy for that. I will pay you to build me one like that that is awesome.
