WATS UP EVERYONE....
IM STARTING A PROJECT, SHOULD I SAY A CRAZY PROJECT THAT WILL BE BAD !!! IM GOOING TO "WITH THE HELP OF MY BEST FRINEDS" A CUSTOM WALL BED "HEADBOARD" WITH A 125 GALLON REEF/FISH TANK 72X18X22 AS MY QUEEN BEAD HEADBOARD. THOSE THAT SOUND CRAZY TO YOU.. LOL.. IDK HOW LOUD IS GOING TO GET AT NIGHT WITH ALL THE STUFF IM BUYING BUT I HOPE THERES A WAY TO NOT HAVING SO MUCH NOISE. WELL. MY BEDROON IS ONLY 12X18 FEET WITH 2 CLOSETS AND 1/2 BATHROOM. I A READY HAVE THE DESIGN THAT I WANT IT TO LOOK SO I CALLED MY FRIEND RICKY AKA " LA CUSINELA/JUANITO" HE IS THE BEST WELDER I KNOW AND TOLL HIM ABOUT THE PROJECT AND IF HE CAN BUILD A CUSTOM STEEL STAND FOR MY FISH TANK... GUESS HE SAID HECK YEA... SO THIS IS THE FIRST THINK I DID..
STEPS:
1 I WENT TO THE FISH GALLERY STORE IN HOUSTON FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT saltwater fish/CORAL, AND IT DID NOT SEEM EASY AT ALL TO ME CUZ I HAVENT EVEN DONE FRESHWATER, SO IT CAN BE A CHALLENGE TO ME.. SO ANY WAYS. THIS GUY AT THE STORE TOLL ME ALMOST EVERYTHING THAT I WOULD NEED TO START UP ITS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT, ITS OKAY. ANWS. I ORDER THE FISH TANKS WITH 2 OVERFLOWS AND IT ARRIVE NEXT DAY AND I WENT TO PICK IT UP.. YUP NEXT -DAY SERVICE....LOL SO THE NEXT STEP WAS.... BUY THE WAY. ITS HEAVY . LOL
2 I WENT TO THE STEEL SUPLY STORE AND BOUT 100 FEET OF 2X2" OF SQUARE TUBING FOR THE STAND, COSTING SBOUT $130. GOT ALL THE DIMENSIONS FOR THE STAND BUT ITS NOT GOUNG TO BE A REGULAR STAND. REMEMBER A WALLBED STAND SO ITS KIND OF TRICKY HOW TO DESIGN IT.
3 I TOOK THE STEEL TO RICKY AND THE DESIGN AS WELL, HE SAW IT AND SAID "WAAAA PIECE OF CAKE.. LOL" THE STAND IS 47" TALL BY 5 FOOT WIDE AND 18 SIDEWAY. HE MADE IT IN 6 HOURS AND LOOKED BAD ... HE CHARGE ME.. MMMMMMM... NOTHING --U KNOW REAL FRIENDS TAKE CARE EACH OTHER.... SO IM GOING TO VARNISH IT WITH " YATE VARNISH" THATS WAT THIS GUY TOLL ME. BUT IDK WHY... JAJAJA
4 REMEMBER ITS GOING TO BE A BED SO I DONT LIKE PLAIN SQUARE TUBING STEEL. THE NEXT PART IS TO COVER IT WITH WOOD ALL AROUND AND IN FRONT, NICE CROWNMOLDING AND BLACK HIGH GLOSS FINISH.]
5. WAITING FOR THE skimmer sump SAND live rock AND OTHER STUFF THAT I ORDER ONLINE......

sounds like an interesting project, although I would look into some kind of "curtain" type structure to go over the glass while you are trying to sleep. I would imagine you will have moon lights on the tank and it would make it a little difficult to have a bunch of blue LED lights shining directly into your eyes while you are trying to go to sleep. Just an idea.

Sounds like a very interesting project...just don't get fish that jump....especially if you sleep with your mouth open

I would turn the bed around. I would rather watch the tank than have it behind me.

I agree do not type in all CAPS it's annoying....Also I would run all of the filtration remotely because the noise will drive you nuts... I would die if I had to hear my overflow trickling all night long

That was my first thought when I read this thread. Too much noise.
Oh by the way WELCOME to the Forum! I see that was post number one. Wishes for thousands more over they years........

Actually, you would be surprised. My overflows are pretty load. I used to not be able to sleep with them making so much noise...now I can't sleep without that sound.
This build could potentially be amazing. Be sure to research reef tanks a lot. They are easy IF you do the proper research. Researching is the hard part, so I hope you like reading. Good Luck and get some pictures for us!!

ohh yea thtat could be cool .. a remote control courtain like in the tethers coujd be perfect... or? thanks

for that i thing i have the great idea ever.. coming soon.. lol .. it will be sound proof. trust me.

But the noise problem would not come from that type of noise. Go press your ear against your tank stand.... the noise you hear there would be the noise you hear in your bed frame.
I would make sure the tank and stand were not actually touching the bed frame in any way.
If there a little application that where I could do a copy/paste and change that caps to lowercase?

I would agree there.....Depending on how your house is set up you may also get a nice vibration through the stand into the frame of the bed. I would put it behind your bed if you want but not touching....I am glad some of you can sleep listening to your tanks...I am a light sleeper though and I would never sleep.
