ok i was tryin to cut of black sptos off of it becuz of a prob but anyways what if i go ahead and cut it all off except for the end would it still live

IME even a really small piece of sponge will grow back. I've accidentally smushed some of mine when moving rocks around and they grow back well, and quickly. I don't have any other than what hitch hiked in on my rock, but they are sponges all the same.
