Cute story

I have blue legged hermit crab that has moved twice into new shells. The first move was to a shell a bit larger (ie: volkswagon beetle to a mini-van); second move was to a shell WAY TO BIG (ie: mini-van to a tractor trailer). This hermit has been falling all over the lr & the tank; a few times I've caught the crab hanging on for dear life to lr with the shell dangling in space behind him (if he had toenails, he was hanging on to that shell with his toenails!...they sure have funny looking bodies).
I'm relieved to say he moved today into a more reasonable size shell!
Silly crab!

That is a pretty funny story! :joy: "I have a question for you bcollie or anyone else who might know. How many extra Hermit shells should one have for their hermits? Say I have 10 Hermits or random size, should I have 10 extra shells of which are larger?

I would have at least 10 assorted sizes, smaller and bigger. One might have too big a shell and need a smaller one.
I had a big strawberry hermit that everytime it molted it would go over and try out this shell that was way to big, it would stay in it a day or so then move back to shell that it should be in. After about a year it finally made it too that shell
