Cutting corals?

I have some xenia,and Im not sure on how to cut it so I can have two pieces,doesn't thr xenia get hurt or something if I cut it?
Also how would it attach to the live rock?
Would it attach by itself or what?

Check in the Reef Tank forum, someone just posted a thread with pictures.

you can cut them, then stick a tooth pick through them and rubber band the toothpick to the rock, you can not cut them and just put a rock next to them make sure there touching the rock and in a couple off days they will split on to the rock.

There's little holes in some of my rock where the xenia would fit perfectly so mabey I don't need to use the toothpick?
