I think they recommend just turning the skimmer off.

Red slime remover and chemiclean remove alot of the oxygen from the tank. The skimmer is the best and most powerfull way to oxygenate the water. during this time remove the collection cup and the skimmer will go nuts and overflow the base non stop. But this puts alot of oxygen in the water. During this period your skimmer serves another purpose than removing protiens from the water. Leave the skimmer on. 48 hours later do a water change. then do another water change in another 48 hours. No more cyno !!!

I followed the directions. It said shut down skimmer for the first 48 hours use an air stone to add O2, did that. Now it was 48 hour today did first w/c and turned skimmer back on. Looks good just tons of micro bubbles. Hope it does the trick.

Keep doing water changes until the skimmer goes back to normal. That's a good indicator that you've gotten all the RSR out.

Not that I was trying to hijack,I was just trying to tell the originator what I have done. So with that in mind today was my second w/c and the tank is completly clean no red slime anywhere. The skimmer cup is back in and its not overflowing, but there are still alot of microbubbles. I was worried about using any type of medication and its not something to take lightly, it got kind of scarry when everthing closed up and the tank got cloudy. But all in all if you cant get rid of it any other way chemiclean works great hopfully I fixed the cause along the way. Good luck and thanks for listening.

I told you they weren't dying. You did a really good thing by posting your results as tehy happen. There is some wrong info that gets passed by people being scared when they use these. They post " My whole reef is dying !" Then everyone panics and the origional poster doesn't ever post again how everything opened back up again. I would say that if anyone lost any thing over the use of this is because they used too much or didn't have proper oxygen in there water. I'm glad your tank worked out.
