i don't feed zoos anything, and they grow as fast as anyone elses. the same goes for mushrooms. frogspawn i feed meaty foods to. (something with a mouth big enough to eat a pea-sized piece of meat, isn't going to benefit much from phytoplankton).
jerryatrick is probably right judging by the amount of dt's you are adding, but my thinking is, it's accumilative. fish food, meaty food, and phyto, might just be enough nutrients for cyano to take hold.

I completely agree with you. Especially since there is no way of us knowing how much he is feeding when he does feed. Just because someone feeds every other day doesn't mean that you will avoid excess nutrients.

I only feed about half of teaspoon of frozen food that has been soaked in vitaly. I pre make the food and put it in the frig. Then i target feed corals once a week with frozen and dt's. I also put a capful into the tank once a week (lots of big feather dusters). I am going to cut back a little and se what happens

how i feed my frogspawn, is i turn off the flow, and put a piece of fish or something near it's mouth and it will do the rest.
i feed the lps a mixture of fresh stuff from the supermarket. btw- are you draining the frozen stuff before adding it to the tank?

Good advice here! My 2cents is a suggestion to reduce your lighting schedule some. When I got my 324 T-5 light fixture, I had it on from 6am (so I could see it before I went to work) to 10pm when I went to bed. That was way too long and I had some serious algae issues. Now I have it on from about noon to 8pm. I also noticed that on the side of my tank facing my South facing window the corals were definitley exhibiting some phototropic behavior so I put a dark curtain on that window.
No algae problem in my tank after reducing the light schedule-might be something for you to consider.
