cycle live sand?

Do i have to cycle live sand in a seperate container are can i just put it in my already cycled tank? right now i have about 30 lbs cc would like to mix them together. Have just bought 20lbs live sand.:notsure:

it depends on whats in ur tank now. if u have fish/inverts in there, putting LS in may cause a new or "mini" cycle because there will be die off from the LS. In that case, u would want to cure it seperately. If there's nothing in ur tank but LR, its fine to put it in.
Depending on how much ur adding, u may or may not see an ammonia spike. That will depend on how much bioload ur existing bio filter can handle.

Got 5 fish 1 eel some hermit crabs. think ill put 10lbs in today and 10 lbs in 3 days.
