My tank was very clear after set up. Ok, it was cloudy after few days, because of the tap water and and from the sand, then it gone clear!
After about 4 weeks (when I thought cycling finished according to tests) I've added some more live rock and few small fishes (in fact it was a huge bio load and to fast!) After three days, it started to become more and more cloudy, as somebody was filling tank with a swamp water. I was battling this for a month, and nothing seemed to help. I don't know if it was bio bloom or algae bloom, or mixture of both. I was doing 10% of the water change every 3-4 days (with RO water) I still was not successfu. It was clearing after the changes, then its started to clouding again. I was like that
litterally! lol.
I posted few threads about it on this forum (you can search under my name, because its very brill advise from the people there). I was about to give up this hobby!
Its to long to type, and I am sure you will get more articulate and accurate advise from the experienced members. I know you will be asked the "cliche" questions about parametres of the water, which is important.
I am just for now: posting the picture of my tank how it looked after 5 weeks of setting up, and how its looking month later! Only if I can give you some assurance!
It will work, providing you have a patience and dedication to this hobby. I am the last person on the earth to have such, but so far its working, and tremendously enjoyable! :jumping:

Just let the tank cycle. Cloudiness is all part of it. Its more of a bacterial bloom that causes cloudy water, during a cycle, that is as long as yur sand bed is not getting blown around. Just give it time.
