Cycle Question

I an going to add my LR into my 80 gal tank tomorrow. How much light should I have during the process? Should I have a skimmer going at the same time during the cycle?

As far as lights go I left mine on at night but my tank was established so it took less than 2weeks. But many ppl believe it is better to leave lights off. Don't forget to feed the tank.

I only had my lights on a couple of hours a day but all other equipment (skimmer, powerheads,etc..)I left on. Use a raw shrimp for the cycle not a fish.

thanks guys. What about the powerheads? What size and how many should I have in a 80 gal tank. Are the powerheads here on this site good? Rio?
