my new set-up is a 210g display with another 210g sump and 55g return tank. so 475g total in tanks. the 210 sump is split 2/3 fuge 1/3 for the skimmer and the filter floss before it goes into the 55g to the return pump. wanted to get as much water as i could and have a long path to get the bubbles out just incase.
ok anyways about my question. there is about 120lbs of reef sand in the tank (not live sand, it was in a dry bag). i have my 75g and my 45g tanks still running untill i got this tank up and running.
my question is can i take everything out of the other tanks and put it right in the new tank (air time on the the live rock in the 75g would be less than 2 minunits max) i'm talking most of the water, the 80lbs of live sand and about 120lbs of live rock right into the 210 and not have to go through a cycle? i know i can do like a 80% water change and not have a tank recycle, wouldn't this be along the lines of just a water change but adding 400g insted of taking water out and putting new water in
i have a total of 8 fish and about 23 or so corals and i really don't want to lose any of the little guys.
