I have a 125 gallon tank with "dead" sand and I just added
45 lbs of Figi Cured Live Rock. Should I leave the lights on thier regular
cycle, 12 hours on 12 hours off, of leave them off while the tank
cycles?
Thanks!!!!

you can keep the lights on. for the coraline alge to thrive on your rock you need to keep the lights on a normal cycle. 12 on and 12 off is a little much. you want to start with less hours and go with 6 or 8 hours on for a couple of weeks and then maybe increase to 10. i wouldnt keep lights on for 12 hours

is it bad to keep the lights on for more than 12 hr.
i have a 29 gallon with a regular 20watt marine blub and a power compact 50/50 blub

That is not enough lr to cycle a tank that size, it is going to need some help, damsels, raw shrimp, uncrured lr. I go with everyone else no need to leave your light on that long, just going to cause an algae problem later. 6-8 hours a day in the begining. Good Luck
