Okay instead of buying all live rock we bought 20#s live and 30#s base for our tank. The tank has just cycled. Does that mean that we have enough bio filtration to keep fish or should we wait longer to let the live rock grow a little more.
Here are the specs on the tank:
55 gal tank
set up early march
about 20#s live rock, 30#s base

IMO you should do a large (25%) water change and wait a week then you can add a fish. If you have already done a WC and the levels still test out ok then go for it!

If you are certain that the NH3 is at zero go very slowly with introduction of your bio load. It is still basically a new tank. Try starting with something hardy. Check chemistry for the first 6 months. Then when you have made the decision as to what to do ---go slower. It saves on the frustration of having your puppies die.
