Hello everone and Happy Holidays!! I just had a quick question for you all.
I just added 50lbs of LR yesterday into my new tank, I havent tested my ammonia yet but it looks like there was some die off last night and today, hopefully starting my cycle.
My question is how long does it take for the LR to become mature again? And is there anything special I need to do to help it start to become live again?
Thx guys, and gals your help is always appreciated!

if you mean live rock. If you are seeing die off it will take you as long as it takes to no longer read ammonia or nitrites. I am not sure what you mean by mature

The rock was added to a new tank so no fish (just water and LS), and it was purchased from this site (the Figi stuff), I believe it is cured.
I read a post earlier today that said Flame Angels need mature LR, that is where I got that, also wasnt sure what it meant.
And I am excited to know that it grows back that quickly,
Thx guys!!
P.S sorry for the late response I posted at work and didnt have time to check again.

I think something needs to be cleared up. Angles are omnivores that eat both plant and animal fares so the live rock should provided them with ample algae growth to constantly graze on. If your live rock stops having die off it is now what we call live BUT that does not mean there is adequate algae on it for your angles
