cycling question?

I cycled my qt with a few shrimp which made the Ammonia rise and is now 0. It took 10 days for it to goto 0. Currently after 14 days the levels are - Ammonia - 0, Nitrites - 5, and Nitrates 10. However, the shrimp dissapeared several days ago. I'm concerned about the bacteria level. Should I add some more shrimp or is the bacteria establishing itself ok?

You could add more shrimp. It is possible that something in there ate the shrimp but I doubt it. But either way the bacteria should settle, shrimp just speeds it up.

How likely is it that the shrimp just ended up getting sucked into your filter? After about 5 days into cycling my tank I tried to remove the shrimp and they were a liquidy goo.
If you wanted to do anything you could always add a little fish food. That would break down and create waste too.

The shrimp just disitengrated probably due to the heat and water. Nothing ate the shrimp because nothing is in the tank. Since the Ammonia has rose and dropped isn't the tank already cycling. Do I really need to add more shrimp or is it ok to leave it alone?

IMO no, just sit back and let nature run it's course.

Well if you have live rock there are always hitchikers. I just ment something like a carb or mantis shrimp could of ate it. It is doubtful but surely possible.

It is just a quarantine tank. The only thing in the tank is a heater, bio wheel, saltwater, and power head. I had a couple of shrimp in the tank and they disintegrated. Ammonia rose and it is now 0. Now nothing is in the tank.
