I'll throw this out there for consumption...
You could boost your turnover rate with a good powerhead and add a good protein skimmer. Then, as long as you have enough live rock, your filter will become obsolete.

i too would suggest the wet-dry system. only reason i didn't recommend it for mona is her tank is 37gal and i don't feel that kind of power is necessary because of the light bio-load she is planning. i'm a wet-dry guy :jumping:

Thanks for the feedback, ebsOCHIN and WHO DEY! I can read all about filters and skimmers, etc. but it's hard to know which ones work best when you have no experience with anything yet.
Lisa, are you going to start a photo album or website for tank progress pics?
