cycling tank

ive been cycling my tank for almost 2 months now.
now i have this brown stuff all around my tank and on the rocks do you think i need snails? i just have hermets and shrimp to clean the tank or what is the brown stuff? <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />

sounds like brown diatom alge usually one of the first alge blooms a tank will get this is normal. a good clean up crew with a good mix of snails can help your problem. also how are your parameters? when amm and trites are 0 you can start adding critters.
