Cycling with LR

preparing to cycle a new 150 with about 75lbs fully cured Kaelini live rock plus about 40lb from my current tank on a 4" bed of oolite and sea flor . Should I allow the rock and wet/dry do all the work or can I add a fullblown cleaning crew safely? I should also mention the wet dry and bio balls have been in full operation for 10 months in my 55. Fuge to be added after full cycle?

I would skip the bioballs/wet-dry alltogether....and add the refugium, with good sand and some liverock.Add some macro-algae later.Put good lighting over the refugium.Do not add the clean-up crew until the cycle is complete and tank parameters have stabilized.I don't personally care for those large clean-up crew packages, but prefer to add mine slowly over time.

I agree with promisetbg.
But I would start adding some hermits. They will eat allot algae that would just grow on the rocks.
And I would defiantly 86 the bio balls. And add the lr rock and sand as promisetbg said

Thanks, good advice. I was hoping to get use of the wet/dry as a filter before pumping back to a SCWD. so kill the bio balls and filter throuh various pads? While I've got you here what are your opinions on the SCWD?
