Has anyone ever heard of instant cycling? Well, I think my tank has! 2 weeks ago I set up my 45 gallon corner tank with live sand I got on a dive trip, 50-60lbs of LR, and 10 chromis.. I have not seen any ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate..... Could it be possible that the 6 gallons of live sand I put in instantly cycled my tank???? I used my test strips on another tank, so I know they work....

My 20g reef tank actually never really cycled. 40lbs livesand, 25lbs liverock, no cycle. It happens. Bo

Yes it can happen, I just want to know why it never happend to me. Guess thats the price I pay for starting with all dead sand and rock, but I get to watch it grow
