Cyle is close to being done....I think!

It will be 1 month by the end of the week for my cycle and I think it is close to being done. Ammonia is 0, nitrite is 0, and nitrates are 40 ppm. Any idea's when I should start seeing some critters from my live rock? I have plenty of diatom's and some (minimal) hair algae. I also noticed a small patch of purple on my rock too. Might be coralline. :D
After my trates are 0, I'm going to wait a week then start feeding it fish food for another week. Boy , it's so close I can taste it...

Your cycle is pretty much done. Do a 20% water change to lower the trates more and wait a few days test again and if your trates are 10ppm or lower i would add a clean up crew to start eating some of that algae.

I think it was Bang Guy who suggested that I feed an empty tank for a week with fish food to see if my ammonia respikes before putting in any live stock. I am going to do that. Any clue when I should start seeing some critters from my LR?

I would say you should start seeing critters soon. As soon as my lights go out i turn them back on 10 mins later and i have pods everywhere. :joy:

Pods...those little white thingy's? I have a bunch of bubbles up to an inch under the live sand that I can see against the glass. Are those them incubating?

Yea the tiny tiny white things. The bubbles are nitrogen gases being released as a result of the cycle.

I still have some bubbles. I wouldnt be concerned. I left it and i have no probs. If you stir the sand you could get a spike in nitrate.
