Awsome Picture! My thanks to all those that served and secured out freedom. It's a shame that in a few years, all WWII vets will be a memory. My Grandfather was there and today he is 85 and in very poor health. I'd love to know what he experienced, but he has never talked about it. All I know was that he landed in North Africa and eventually Anzio Beach head and Sicily and finally into France for D-Day.

I had Great Uncles on both sides of my family involved...both men were loved and respected...both are now deceased. Being a Veteran myself I know the price they paid...and each day I appreciate the sacrifice of all of our military personal. I often do not agree with the politics of war...but the men and women that risk their lives for our freedom will always have my gratitude. If men like Bush and his cabinet members had to storm a beach and see body parts fly they would possibly think twice about sending our military into conflicts!!!! But...the sad truth is men like Mr. Bush never pay the price....they determine the fee...we pay the bill!!!!!!!

wow, great picture. Can you imagine being all of about 19 or 20 and having to step off that boat? God rest their souls and all who have come after them.

you guys/gals ever see that commercial about the rookie fireman i think its a beer commercial.. where the litle kid comes up to the group of guys and ask the "rookie" are you a real fireman" and the old guys are like yeah hes a real fireman.. well
i had about the same thing happen to me.... i was out doing a parade a few years ago and me and three guys went to the VFW and to make it a short story a little boy came up and said
" i just wanna say thanks for saving my mommies life" come to find out it was a woman that we pulled out of the water about a month prior.. i dont think i ever cried so much in my life... and thats when it makes it all worth it too.. when a person says a simple "thank-you"
its amazing how patriotic*SP* people are.. i never realy noticed till i joined...
